Labanya was founded on 16th August 1993. And my journey started almost a year before that.

When I started my journey - 27 years ago - in the beauty industry, I didn’t have much knowledge about it. I entered into the business only because I wanted to do something different. And indeed, it was something different at that time. Because people were less conscious of beauty. The concept of beauty was there either on the silver screen or in the application of powder and perfume on someone’s wedding. Maybe the application of moisturizer during winter for some people. And at that time, they didn’t have a problem of oily or dry skin. Or maybe they did have some problems but there were very little or no solutions. 

So when I started my voyage people around me were curious about it. That helped me to spread some awareness. And I literally had to take a trip to Kolkata to learn about beauty, Because knowledge about this new subject was not available here in this small town. And after reaching Kolkata i found that entry to the beauty industry was not easy as the experts preferred to keep the knowledge by themselves. They would take some huge amount of money but would rarely share something useful. It was disappointing, but I gradually learned that very few and truly knowledgeable people would share their knowledge. But as always, it was difficult to find the right Guru. 

During this course of my journey, I have been blessed by some of the renowned names like Mr. Pandhari Juker, Mr. Pankaj Chopra, Dr. Blossom Kochhar, who are the pioneers in the beauty industry but their humble gesture reminded me that true knowledge makes a person down towards earth.  

This industry has totally changed in the last 25 years. On one hand, I have observed the changes in my clients. Their nature of problems and questions have changed. They are now more aware of their problems and they are conscious about products and their effects. On the other hand, I have seen new concepts and technological advancements to completely abolished some old practices. These changes make us constantly go through a process of learning and unlearning. This process is very rigorous and at the same time very interesting. We now have some advanced therapeutic hair and skin treatments which we never had before. I strive to grasp new ideas, concepts, and technologies so that I can answer my modern clients with the latest knowledge and guide them to choose the right therapy or product.
